Come join the fun at the City of Cape Canaveral’s Southern Style BBQ/Heritage Day event as we celebrate the City’s 50th Anniversary. Fun for the whole family, includes kids’ activities, classic car show, local displays and arts & crafts vendors. The celebration starts with a Native American tribal dance, followed by re-enactors of various periods of history. Special guest speaker, author Jay Barbree, will talk about the early days at the Cape. There will be an old fashioned BBQ live music by Sound Traveler, unveiling of the 50th anniversary commemorative sea turtle sculpture, ceremonial sealing of a 50-year time capsule and a special announcement about a pictorial postmark for the city anniversary in May.

Cost for adult BBQ is $7.00; cost for children 12 and under is $5.00. Attendees wearing commemorative T-Shirts will receive complimentary BBQ tickets. T-Shirts may be purchased at the Cape Canaveral City Hall, 105 Polk Avenue and at 7300 N. Atlantic Ave. For more info on the activities
